Something that the British roads have really been missing has been the sounds of glorious V8′s rumbling down the motorways of the UK. Until you go to Ace Cafe on Hot Rod night and hear some of the head crushing noises that the cars there can make. It isn’t insane. It’s purely fucking delusional!!! The cars sounds amazing, the people are great and the atmosphere hands down beats ANY other night at Ace. Ford Night (see previous post) is always packed and gets steadily more so the later the night gets but Hot Rod night is RAMMED from the get go! The cars are parked bumper to bumper, door to door, there is no room to move!!
It has to be the most amazing thing I have ever seen at Ace Cafe, so many people, every age group, both genders, every kind of classic American car imaginable, every kind of big block, every kind of style from true Hot Rod to clean and well preserved examples.
Honestly, I think you all ought to make it to at least ONE Hot Rod night because it is by far the best night at Ace. The inside of the Cafe had nowhere to sit and for the first time in around 5 years of going to Ace, I actually had to sit outside!!
Take a night off. Go up there. Check out some insane cars that you’ll never see better kept in the UK. To give you an idea, the roundabout at Ace gets busy on a Ford night. On a Hot Rod Night THE WHOLE STREET OUTSIDE THE CAFE GETS PACKED. It goes from two lanes to one. See the pictures below, try to pick out which ones I was nearly killed taking XD
